The concrete dam at the outlet of Otter Tail Lake has been largely replaced by a rock ramp. The ramp will allow fish migration while maintaining existing lake levels, and will eliminate maintenance costs for the dam. It also increases safety by removing the dangerous culvert that was present in the middle of the old concrete dam.

This and several other rock ramps along the Otter Tail River flowage are joint projects of East Otter Tail Soil and Water Conservation District, Minnesota DNR, and Houston Engineering.
